People who are 65 years old or older and do not live in Jammu and Kashmir can apply for a passport. In Jammu and Kashmir, women must be at least 60 years old and men must be at least 65 years old.
The person must not be wanted under any crime or other offence in India.

How To Apply For A Passport In An Offline Mode?

To apply for a passport in the offline mode, you will have to visit a Passport Seva Kendra along with documents such as proof of residence, address proof, identification proof, birth proof, etc.

You can approach an officer at the Seva Kendra and they will collect your information, documents and biometrics to start the process.

After the application has been processed and approved, a police verification will be conducted at your home or wherever the address/residence proof indicates.

How To Apply For A Passport In An Online Mode?

If you do not want the hassle of having to go to the passport Seva Kendra and stand in queues, you can apply for a passport online simply using the passport online application service. To apply for a passport in an online mode, follow the steps given below!

Visit the Passport Seva Online Portal.
Click on the ‘New User Registration’ option.
Fill in all the details such as your name, address, phone number, date of birth, etc.
Set a Login ID for yourself along with a password that you will remember.
Enter the captcha and click on the register.

After registering yourself,

Visit the passport seva portal again and login using your Login ID and password.
Fill in the required details and upload supporting documents.
You will be given an option of choosing from a tatkaal/ordinary passport.
If you want a passport urgently, within a few days, choose the tatkaal option. In case you can wait, choose the ordinary option.
Schedule an appointment and pay the application fees using any one of the multiple payment options available.
