Godhan Nyay Yojana is a government scheme that the Chhattisgarh government has introduced keeping in mind the objective of helping both farmers and rural families by buying cow dung from them at an ascertained rate. The collected cow dung is processed into vermicompost and other organic products. Thus, it serves to promote sustainable agriculture and a new source of income generation for the rural community. It promotes organic practices of farming and assists in reviving the agricultural economy.

To qualify for the Godhan Nyay Yojana, applicants must meet specific criteria that ensure effective participation and alignment with the government scheme’s objectives. Must be a resident of Chhattisgarh.
The cattle owner must be at least 18 years old.
An Aadhaar card is mandatory for the cow dung collector.
The cow dung collector must possess a personal bank account.
An identity card is required for the dung collector.
The dung collector must have a valid mobile number.
Registration of the number of animals owned by the dung collector is mandatory.

The application process for the farmer scheme is such that ensures all cattle rearers are registered as well as meeting set standards. The steps in the registration process are as follows:
Step 1: Access the prescribed application form
Procure the application form from one of the following offices.
SLRM Centre
Compost Shed
Ward Office
Gothan
Step 2: Filling
Fill in the necessary particulars on the application form;
Number of animals
Amount of dung excreted
Name of herder
Step 3:Present the completed form to the office indicated.
Step 4:The ward in charge is responsible for checking that information given is correct.
Step 5: After verification, the cattle rearer will be successfully registered by the ward in charge of the scheme.
